Recently, clinical trials of new coronary pneumonia drugs jointly initiated by many African countries and international research institutions have started one after another, aiming to find effective treatment options for mild and common patients with new coronary pneumonia, and reduce the pressure on the medical systems of various countries.
The trial has been approved by the relevant national health department. Participating volunteers can withdraw at any time, and their personal information will be protected. The experiment was first conducted in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and will continue to be carried out in 13 African countries.
According to reports, the trial is led by doctors from participating countries to test the efficacy of specific drugs on patients with mild and common new coronary pneumonia, and to study treatment methods suitable for the medical and health systems of African countries and other underdeveloped countries and regions, to prevent the deterioration of the disease and curb the spread of the virus . The test data will be made public and shared on a global scale and used in the formulation of public health policies in various countries.
Ken Gesson, director of the African Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said that Africa needs to conduct large-scale clinical trials of new coronary pneumonia drugs to more effectively respond to the African epidemic. Swaminathan, the chief scientist of the World Health Organization, said that conducting clinical trials will help improve WHO's ability to respond to the global new crown pneumonia epidemic.
At present, many African countries are facing a new wave of epidemic challenges. The African Center for Disease Control and Prevention issued a statement calling on African countries to reassess the epidemic prevention and control situation and carry out more active epidemic prevention work.
